JADE: Festival ‘26
A Maximalist Chrome, Queer Cabaret.
For JADE's 2026 Festival Tour, spanning Europe, America, and Asia, Black Skull Studio was commissioned to design a full video treatment for the live screens. Our brief was to bring JADE's signature 'Showbiz' aesthetic to a cinematic scale, translating her album's world into something that could hold its own on a festival stage.
The project brought together multiple designers alongside a full studio shoot day, giving us the raw material to build screen visuals that amplified JADE’s campaign. From the outset, the creative direction pulled in two directions simultaneously: the chrome universe JADE had established at the start of her campaign - cold, reflective, hyper-real - and the theatrical cabaret storytelling that runs through the album's rollout. The challenge was finding where those two sensibilities collide. What emerged was grungier and more confrontational than either reference point alone. We leaned into a queer-informed visual language and used that as the connective tissue between the chrome and the cabaret.
