Marco Mengoni: Marco Negli Stadi
Stadium spectacle built as collective ritual.
For Marco Mengoni, Black Skull created a stadium-scale live show designed to hold both intimacy and scale all at once.
As Creative Directors and show designers Black Skull took the idea of collective ritual, showing how the show celebrated more than a decade of connection between Marco and his audience. It opened with The Film of Life, a vintage Super 8-style sequence weaving together moments from Marco’s career and memories of the crowd, framing the concert as a once-in-a-lifetime convergence of shared paths.
The production unfolded across four acts with cinematic transitions, a large circular halo rig, pyrotechnics and a projection cube that rose out of the B stage, taking the audience on an emotional and visual journey through Marco’s artistic identity.
The creative arc explored the multiplicity of self: Marco as artist, showman and human being. In The Spark Inside, a black-and-white fashion film showed multiple Marco silhouettes merging into one ignited figure. Live from the 70s shifted into a warm retro aesthetic, while Nature of Marco’s Mind culminated in a monolithic cube cracking open to reveal Marco surrounded by projected imagery of nature and elemental forms, accompanied by spoken word on the interconnectivity of all living things.
The result was a stadium show designed to feel human at its core whilst still being expansive, cinematic and emotionally alive.

"An Explosion of Energy and Emotion"

For Marco Mengoni’s 2022 Negli Stadi, we built a screen language rooted in elemental humanity and an Italian 1970s warmth - sun-faded earth tones, film grain, and analogue flares - so the stadium scale still felt intimate and connected. Organic textures (stone, wood, clay) and soft, slow camera moves framed the band and crowd as one community, letting voice and song lead.
